My name is Laurie Wing.

I love everything about pregnancy! After all, we wouldn't all be here today if it weren't for pregnancy! Pregnancy is one of the most miraculous experiences in life -- both conceiving and delivering! It is truly amazing! 

I started my career in the travel industry from 1987-1996. When I had my first baby, I left my job in travel for maternity leave and never returned! As a result of being a mother, I created a baby product and obtained a provisional patent. During my second pregnancy, I finished writing and self-published a pregnancy journal which I started writing during my first pregnancy. Butterflies & Hiccups was conceived. I did my own PR/Marketing, distributed to hundreds of maternity/baby/specialty stores as well as major bookstores and gained national media on my own. Butterflies & Hiccups took on a life of its own. Barnes & Noble's publisher, Sterling Publishing, is now the official publisher of Butterflies & Hiccups and being sold worldwide!

What I didn't know was that Pregnancy, Baby and Parenting businesses would start contacting me to do PR/Marketing for their businesses/products. Life took me down this new path. I have made thousands of contacts over the years and never imagined this would be my new career. I absolutely love my work and it allows me to enjoy what I am doing professionally while working from my home office. Most importantly, I am able attend my children's school and sports activities while being available for them after school every day.

I have taken this a step further and want to help other Pregnancy, Baby and Parenting-like businesses and media outlets to network and share their sources to help eachother. It is with great pleasure that I launch this overdue website - ParentBlast! - that has been in the talking stages since ABC Kids Expo back in September of 2007. I look forward to working with all of the contacts I have met over the 10+ years I have been in this industry and look forward to meeting new people and learning about the different products and services available.
